The client had an old outdated website that ranked on page 3 for all of the core business related keywords. They wanted to rank on page 1 to increase business volumes and reduce ad spend.

What Did We Do?
This is one of my favourite clients that I have ever worked with. The website was outdated and ranked on page 3 of the search results for most of the businesses money keywords. They were reliant on leads from Google Ads and introducers.
We quickly identified that the website was running on outdated technology and got the buy in for a website redesign from the business.
We conducted thorough keyword research and design the new website around the keywords.
We created pages of long form content around each keyword. We create topic clusters and internal links to support the pages.
Once we had finished and launched the new site within weeks we reached the top of page 2 for all core search terms. We then optimised the Technical aspect of the website to improve the user experience.
We continued to optimise the money pages and built a number of high quality links into these pages which built the page authority up. We moved onto the middle of page 1 using these tactics.
The business want more leads so we wanted to maximise the traffic so we began to look at the customer journey and convince them to do some conversion rate optimisation.
We looked at the route to application, the application form and what happens after the customer has applied.
We made a number of adjustments to the start of the journey, the form layout and the messaging after a customer has applied which result in a better overall user experience.
The Result
The client achieved position 1 on page for a competitive keyword with a search volume of 18k. The site went from around 3k impressions per month up to 192k. They went from 300 clicks per year to 39k clicks. The loan book grew by 174% during this time.
The client continued to rank in the top 3 positions for 16 core keywords for the last 2 years. You can see on the chart the exact point that they decided that they didn’t need anymore SEO and we stopped working with them. They decided to take their I.T departments advice and didn’t continue to follow the proven strategy that we had implemented.
